SOME FAMOUS BITEROIS :
Pierre-Paul RIQUET : (1609-1680) conceived, financed and directed the construction of the Canal du Midi.
Jean MOULIN : (1899-1943) Resistant born in Béziers June 20 at 6 rue d'Alsace (at the time), his house is still visible from our day July 14 place.
Jean-Antoine INJALBERT : (1845-1933) Friend of Rodin and renowned sculptor to whom we owe the first bust of Marianne and many Parisian monuments.
The Cathédrale St NAZAIRE : Built and rebuilt many times, the first building dating back to the 8th century, it promises the most courageous visitors a unique and magnificent viewpoint from the top of its central bell tower, if not to rest in the garden of the cloister.
Les HALLES : (open every day until 1 pm) built in 1891, it is a friendly place where you will find fresh and regional products. Guests can enjoy a specialty in pubs around them.
THE PAUL RIQUET ALLEES :every Friday, a flower market intoxicates the promenade. A veritable central place, you will find the sunny terraces of the breweries for a drink or a meal.
Le PLATEAU DES POÈTES (The TRAY OF POETS) : At the bottom of the Alleys, this 5-hectare garden is home to hundred-year-old trees and a 1900 funfair is set up every summer for a leap in time.
THE ROMAN AMPHITHEATER : dating from the 1st century AD, it is accessible by the Rue du Moulin à huile. Visit in augmented reality.
The NEW ARENA: built in 1897, they host many events. Visits are organized in July-August (see tourist office).
Le PONT VIEUX (The OLD BRIDGE:) : build in twelfth century. Its 15 arches span the Orb and a paved path will take you to the canal bridge.
4 Museums : Fayet Museum, Fabregat Museum, Biterrois Museum and Taurin Museum.
The Canal du Midi : a building that links Toulouse to the Mediterranean Sea in Sète. Its construction started in 1666 and ended in 1681, directed by Pierre-Paul Richet during the reign of Louis XIV.
Have a pleasant time between bike ride, walk or during a boat cruise.
The PONT CANAL : majestic work of 1858 to carry the Canal du Midi over the Orb, the river that also crosses our city.
FONSERANES ECLUSES : nine in number, these successive locks allow boats sailing on the Canal du Midi to climb to impress the Canal Bridge. Monument listed as UNESCO heritage.
A small tourist train travels its various sites in summer.

Le 20 c'est le Vin : from February to November. Every 20th of every month: Tastings of local wines, tapas and musical atmosphere take place place Jean Jaurès.
International Meetings around FLAMENCO : in March, information at the Tourist Office.
Festivities of St Aphrodise : In April, Béziers celebrates his patron saint.
The Summer Sound & Light show: It takes place on the Paul Riquet Alleys, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at nightfall.
DIVINE EVENINGS : In July and August, every Thursday evening there are festive tastings on the Paul Riquet Alleys.
The FERIA : Around August 15th, the Féria will take place on 5 days and 5 nights of festivities throughout the city: Shows, concerts, bullfights and entertainment for all! in 2018: August 10th to 15th.
BRESCOUDEROS: Large gathering of bikers during the month of September.
RETROFOLIE'S : THE meeting place for lovers of old vehicles during the month of October.
The center of Béziers is only a few kilometers from the best beaches of Valras, Portiragnes, Vias or Agde.
